VP /Director - OTC Commodity Derivatives Sales
Description of Department
Marex Solutions is a division of Marex specialising in the manufacture and distribution of customised derivative products on Equities, Commodities, Credit, FX, Funds, Fixed Income and Digital Assets. These products are distributed to customers through two specialist channels: Hedging Solutions and Financial Products.
Role Summary
Your responsibilities will be:
• Growing the commodity client franchise by originating new clients via personal contacts, networking events and collaboration with internal partners such as brokers, etc.
• Provide high-quality sales coverage across APAC (ex-Australia) for OTC Commodities. This includes quoting, deal execution and providing market colour to clients.
• Responsible for co-ordinating KYC/onboarding and Credit approvals for new clients
• The focus is on Southeast Asia and hence the role will require occasional trips to surrounding countries for business development
• Maybe required to manage 1-2 junior team members depending on business needs
Skills and Experience Required
• Direct sales experience in OTC commodity derivatives and a proven PNL track record
• Familiarity with financial derivatives (futures, swaps, options)
• Familiarity with commodity underlyings with focus on energy (oil, coal, emissions)
• Knowledge of onboarding/credit approval procedures as well as legal documentation
• Strong customer focus and ability to develop and manage your own direct client base
• Team player and ability to collaborate with various internal stakeholders
• Strong risk and compliance ethic with ability to conduct business within Company’s policies & procedures and applicable rules and regulations
• Language skills: knowledge of one or more Asian regional languages will be a plus.
