Purpose of Role:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the daily and monthly operations of the Finance department.

The depth of knowledge amongst its teams and divisions provides its customers with clear advantage, and its technology-led service provides access to all major exchanges, order-flow management via screen, voice and DMA, plus award-winning data, insights and analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the timely payment of market data and platform invoices and related monthly accruals of expenses.
  • Responsible for the preparation of daily and month-end reconciliations for the futures activity between the general ledger (GL) and various external depositories and/or internal bookkeeping systems
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of any differences identified on these reconciliations including the input of entries into the GL and/or XTP
  • Assist and provide back up support for client and producer FCM related interest pay-out computations including the set-up of rates, debiting/crediting amounts in XTP, accrual of monthly amounts and responding to various inquiries regarding these items
  • Active involvement with the monthly commission pay-out calculation process including the brokerage receivables calculations and collection process.
  • Prepare miscellaneous daily reports for management, including ad hoc reporting and data analysis
  • Review existing departmental policies and procedures, and institute updates where needed
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
    • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
    • Assist with swap dealer reporting and other FCM regulatory reporting.

    • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.
    • To escalate risk events immediately.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • At least one to three years experience in accounting or auditing post
  • Experience in the Financial Service Industry, especially with a swaps dealer is a preferred
  • •Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with computers and applicable software
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar Oracle G/L, XTP is preferred.
  • Expert level ability with Microsoft Excel; Essbase and Alteryx experience is preferred
  • Experience writing reports, correspondence, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
