Purpose of Role:

The Business Development Manager of the US Tax Credit group will lead the origination and business development effort for Marex’s renewable energy tax credit transfer platform. This is a sales role dealing in products across renewable energy transferable tax credit business.  

Marex has unique access across markets with significant share globally both on and off exchange. The depth of knowledge amongst its teams and divisions provides its customers with clear advantage, and its technology-led service provides access to all major exchanges, order-flow management via screen, voice and DMA, plus award-winning data, insights and analytics.

Marex is launching a new renewable energy transferable tax credit platform with the goals of increasing the volume and efficiency of tax credit investments and bringing new buyers into the transferable tax credit market. Marex intends to leverage its position as a dominant player in REC and power sectors to become a leader in this growing market.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet and communicate with clients, of all types and variety, to support growth of the business.
  • Develop market intelligence to successfully advise clients on pricing guidance and industry trends.
  • Assist with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintain existing client relationships, assist with support processes as required by colleagues, and engage and update clients.
  • Facilitate negotiations with clients and Marex stakeholders.
  • Responsible for assisting with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintaining of existing client relationships, assisting with support processes as required by colleagues, and engaging and updating clients.
  • Collaboration with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology.
  • Strategize to increase P&L, requiring analysis of markets and products.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with Marex’s Code of Conduct
    • Carrying out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial and MSIL trading books.
    • Liaising with clients in US; clients include banks, hedge funds, market makers, fund managers, institutional, trading houses and other trading boutiques.
    • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
    • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.
    • To escalate risk events immediately.
    • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience originating renewable energy tax equity and established client base.
  • Track record successfully closing renewable energy tax equity transactions.
  • Proactive mindset in keeping up to date with market research and incorporating into role efficiently.
  • Analytical skills, identifying opportunities and risks in a quick and decisive manner.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial service markets and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Substantial experience working in and knowledge of energy products.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary Range: $200,000 to $250,000 per year and eligible for discretionary bonus.
