Role Summary

Day to Day responsibility for identification, monitoring & management of firm risk exposures.
Developments to new and existing systems and models to minimise the risk of financial loss to the firm.

The role is in Clearing Risk Team under Risk Department. Major function for the team is managing the clearing risk for clients.

Overall Responsibilities

• To monitor and report market exposures (including but not limited to clients’ overnight positions in US entity), which is handed over to London team for follow-the-sun. taking appropriate action with positions / trades of specific concern with escalation as necessary
• To perform senior management risk analysis, control & reporting in line with the Marex Group Risk Policy & Framework
• To ensure margin rates sufficiently cover our exposure at the client level and to have a
thorough understanding of the methods the various exchanges use to arrive at the respective rate
• To develop a full understanding of the fundamental and technical aspects of all markets that Marex Group trades and clears
• To develop relationships with all internal stake holders including trading desk, sales desk, back office, margins and other key personnel
• To assist in explanations to external customers and counterparties of Margins and Market risk methodologies as necessary
• To calculate daily margin call and circulate to clients in Asian time zones.
• To liaise with sales desks to ensure client will cover margin call
• To work with sales in accommodating new business lines / clients with the emphasis on ensuring Marex’s controls are not breached
• To support the Credit department in preparing / writing credit reviews with a focus on the Asia client base
• To develop/enhance current risk processes and systems
• To collect and validate market data for risk systems
• Validate model and perform UAT for risk systems
• Support daily functions of the Credit Risk department as required
• To perform risk related Ad-hoc tasks
• Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the MAS
• Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

• To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills are required
• With solid understanding of risk concepts, good knowledge of risk factors. Risk management techniques including Value‐at‐Risk, position breakdown are required
• Understanding of option valuation models, including Black‐Scholes valuation and numerical methods
• Proficient in Excel is a must. Hands-on experience in VBA, Matlab and Python is preferrable.
• Experience of Commodity markets is desirable
• Margin, Clearing/Broking business knowledge is an advantage
• Degree in Mathematics, quantitative finance or risk management related is preferrable
• 1‐3 years industry experience is preferrable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
