The Finance department is a global department that support and control the business activities and reporting requirements of the firm. The department includes Product Control, Legal Entity control, Tax and Treasury.

Role Summary

Ensure that financial and management accounting requirements for the Marex Solutions division are met in a timely and accurate manner and contribute to the production of the daily P&L and Balance sheets.

This role will also be responsible to drive Finance transformation and change, in line with the overall Marex Solutions transformation agenda.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily P&L reconciliation and controls for the Solutions business, including accurate reporting of Greeks and P&L to front office and senior management.
  • Working closely with Valuation and Risk department to calculate and verify adjustments (CVA, DVA, FVA, Bid/Offer).
  • Analyse full profit before tax, including Cost reviews. Providing analysis around the desk economics to both Management and desk head on monthly basis.
  • Provide PL/BS commentary to Legal entity control team as part of month end analysis of each legal Entity and how the Structured Products business impacts each entity (where relevant).
  • Ensure that all months end manual accounting adjustment are correctly posted for all OTC’s and Structured notes.
  • Ensure that the business’s balance sheet is fully substantiated every month.
  • Work with Support and Control groups to resolve any portfolio discrepancies and making improvements to daily processes.
  • The position comes with a strong project focus and will be a key contributor to identifying opportunities and delivering process and transformation improvements.
  • Drive the identified Finance transformation agenda across all support and control functions.
  • Assist in building out trade flows from new and current Front Office system to the General Ledger.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

  • To escalate risk events immediately
  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Accounting (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of Structured Derivatives essential, preferably Structured Equities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with Management, Front Office, Legal, Operations and Risk
  • Ability to pinpoint root cause issues.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Proven analytics and investigation skills
  • Proficient in MS office (Excel) and FO/BO systems (e.g. ICE / Sophis preferred, but not essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Process optimisation or change experience (preferred, but not essential)
  • Experience in Python / SQL or Alteryx (preferred, but not essential)
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
