Marex Spectron, the leading global commodities broker, has received a Capital Markets Services Licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
The licence is for the regulated activity of trading in futures contracts, including those related to the energy, metals and agricultural markets.
John Wall, Chief Executive Officer of Marex Spectron, said, “Singapore has become a vital global hub for trading commodities. As the only broker with global scale that focuses its business on commodities, this licence represents a critical step in our development not just in Singapore, but in Asia and around the world. We thank the MAS for the opportunity the Licence presents.”
Ola Strand Andersen, Chief Executive Officer – Singapore of Marex Spectron Asia, added, “We have been growing strongly in Singapore and this licence gives us the ability to build on that and expand the range of services we can offer clients. Singapore continues to go from strength to strength as a hub for commodities in Asia and we are delighted to now be able to play fully our role in Singapore’s continued growth story. “
